PRACTICE:
Open Practice Gym 3:30pm - 5:30pm
at Indian Mound Community Center
3901 Parsons Ave, Columbus Ohio 43207
The Buckeye Wheelers conference tournament games were played Wooster Ohio, March 26-27 for
the full MAWBC tournament.
Six teams made it to
Wooster for the MAWBC 2010-2011 season ending
tournament. Most of the teams were very evenly
matched. The Buckeyes are extremely disappointed as we finished 3rd in this
years tournament.
Our first game
was with Bay City, Erie PA and the Friday night was a big opening win 76 to 25
ur highest
points this season.
The next game
was with the Ft Wayne IN which is a very strong team and past national runner
ups, and the game was close see-saw game with Ft Wayne winning 49 to 58.
The next game
(2nd game on Saturday) was against the Western NY wheels. This game was also
much closer than expected. But we won going down the stretch 72 to 62.
The game number
3 on Saturday had the Buckeyes playing defending national champions Cleveland .
This was a tight close game and neither gained a lead advantage. This one would
go into overtime as Columbus would drop a 7 point lead in regulation. The extra
period remained close with the Bucks wining 58 to 56 -1ot.
Sunday morning had the
rematch of the weekend with the Buckeyes versus Ft Wayne. And the rematch was no
easy run for the Buckeyes. This was the second time these two teams played
double over time games. the last time was in 2004. Again as in 2004 the Bandits
won following one of the Buckeye starters fouling out. 66 to 72 -2ot.
